“Dev Entertainment Ventures will be coming up with something that has not been done before. We want to reach out to more Bengali audiences with Hobu Chandra Raja Gobu Chandra Mantri and hence we will be organizing the premiere on Jalsha Movies on 10th October at 2 pm. This will allow a huge audience to watch the Bengali film during the Pujas from the comforts of their homes” said Dev who is the producer of the upcoming Bengali film Hobu Chandra Raja Gobu Chandra Mantri.

Also gracing the occasion were Arpita Chatterjee and Subhasish Mukherjee.
The film is based on the story of eminent Bengali writer Dakshinaranjan Mitra Majumder.

The story is about the kingdom of Bombagarh and how it is ruled well under King Hobu Chandra. His family consists of his wife Kusumkali and his son. He longs for a daughter. And after the daughter is born, his happiness knows no bounds. Gobu Chandra makes his entry at this juncture and things take a turn. What happens next?

Kharaj Mukherjee will be seen in the role of Gobu Chandra, Arpita Chatterjee will be seen as Rani Kusumkali and Subhasish Mukherjee will essay the role of the old wise minister.

“There are two types of producers. One is more inclined about the business that the film will do and the other type of producer focuses more on the content part rather than on the business. The second type is increasingly becoming rare and Dev falls in the second type. He is a passionate producer. He even helped in setting up props or giving advice as to what would look good onscreen” said Arpita Chatterjee.

Dev wanted to associate Soumitra Chatterjee with this film. However as a major portion of the film was shot in Hyderabad, Soumitra Chatterjee could not go there in person to shoot the film. So Dev came up with the idea to add a narrative part to the film and Soumitra Chatterjee acted as the narrator. According to Dev, this was a blessing for him and also for the film.

Speaking about her look in the film, Arpita said “Believe me, it was very hard wearing such heavy jewelry and acting. At the end of the day, there will be bruises due to the jewelry. However, the work was being done so well that these things did not matter much. Dev as a producer was so involved with my look, which is not something I have seen producers usually do. He changed the initial look as he was not satisfied with this. Kudos to him for his involvement!!”

Subhasish Mukherjee who plays the role of the wise minister said “We all love fairy tales. We all have listened to fairy tales either from our grandmothers or from our mothers. When you will see such a fairy tale in the form of this film, you will be transported to the world of Bombagor. It is a grand, visual spectacle for the audience. While watching the film, you will feel that you are already in a different world altogether”.

The event also saw the launch of the third song of the film Hukum Taamil Koro or the Bombagorer Jatiyo Sangeet. This is the song introduced by the new minister of Bombagor.

The film has been directed by Aniket Chattopadhyay.

The soundtrack is by Kabir Suman while the background score is by Savvy.

The film has been produced by Dev Entertainment Ventures.
