Kalighat Sports Lover’s Association organized the Silver Jubilee Blood Donation Festival on the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

Blood donation is a noble activity—no individual questions whether this is the blood of a Hindu or Muslim when accepting the blood. Blood saves the lives of people in need. Hence the need for more such initiatives.

Not only people from Kolkata but around three thousand people from the district also took part actively in the blood donation drive.

Eminent guests who graced the occasion were ministers Dr. Shashi Panja, Arup Biswas, Indranil Sen, singer Nachiketa Chakraborty, ex-footballer Amit Bhadra, ex-footballer Prasun Bandopadhyay and many more.

The event was a huge success with active participation from people from all walks of life.
