Hulladek Recycling Organized Awareness Session On E-Waste For Underprivileged Children
Every year on June 12th, World Day Against Child Labor is celebrated on this day. In a recent report, the WHO describes the relationship between children’s health outcomes and informal e-waste recycling activities. Without adequate protection or safeguards, over 5 lakh children between the ages of 10 and 14 work in yards and recycling facilities throughout India to process e-waste.
Understanding the seriousness of the situation, Hulladek Recycling, Eastern India’s fastest-growing e-waste management company, organized an awareness session on e-waste for the underprivileged children at Taratala’s Harijan Gyanmandir School to inform them of the dangers of informal waste management.
Gracing the occasion were Dr. Tapan Kr. Gupta, Chief Technical Advisor, West Bengal Pollution Control Board, Mr. Sukumar Bar, Assistant Engineer – Borough -IX, Kolkata Municipal Corporation, Mr. Ashim Ghosh, CRY Foundation- East, Mr. Rakesh Kumar Tiwari, Teacher in Charge, Harijan Gyanmandir School, Taratala and Mr. Nandan Mall, Founder & CMD, Hulladek Recycling and others.
Later Mr. Mall conducted an awareness session on e-waste that the children well appreciated. A drawing competition was also organized among the children.
More than 60 children along with their parents attended the program.
