Actor Ritwick Chakraborty will be next seen in hurni Ganguly’s Tarikh. The Kolkata Mail correspondent Priyanka Dutta caught up with the versatile actor in an exclusive conversation. Excerpts..

Tell us about your journey of working in Tarikh.

Ritwick Chakraborty- Working with Churni Ganguly has been a great experience because the film throws light on many issues which not only have local but also international importance as well. As an audience and also as an actor, after watching Nirbashito, I wanted to work with her. So when I got the chance to work with her, it was a dream come true for me.

We depend so much on dates. When my son was born, that day now has become important for me. Earlier it was just another day. Or the day when my class ten results were out- it was important that year. But now I have completely forgotten the date. This has been shown in the film. I have an interesting dialogue in the film. Instead of depending much on dates, we should make every day count and live as if it is your last day on Earth.

I play Rudrangshu in the film who is a jovial person by nature.

How was the experience of working with Churni Ganguly?

Ritwick Chakraborty- I have been a fan of Churni Ganguly from the day I saw Nirbashito. And when I got the call from her, I was elated. She knows specifically what she wants. This is a great thing about her. She is very detailed about what she wants the actors to do in the scenes. That helps a lot in acting. Working with her was a great experience.

Since the film revolves around social media- how much active are you on social media?

Ritwick Chakraborty- Not only celebrities, most people are active on social media these days. They have a virtual life there. I am not so active but at the same time I am neither aloof from it too. I use it from time to time.

Social media trolling of celebrities is a huge problem in recent times. What is your take on it?

Ritwick Chakraborty- Not only celebrity trolling, there are other kinds of trolling that happen in social media too. People who are not so vocal in their real lives are very vocal on social media. They have a personality in their virtual life. Trolling showcases the bad side of social media and the bad tastes of individuals. Such people existed even before social media but now they have the platform to be vocal about it.

How was the experience of working with Raima and Saswata Chatterjee?

Ritwick Chakraborty- I have worked with both of them before. Saswata Chatterjee is a favourite actor for many of us. Raima will seriously bowl you over with her performance in the film. I had most of my scenes with them. It was a good experience to again share screen with such talented actors.

How important will 12^th April be for the audience?

Ritwick Chakraborty- Tarikh releases on 12^th April. It will be an important date as the film will leave a lasting impression on the minds of the audience for sure.
