Ritabhari Chakraborty along with plus-sized eminent women from different fields made a grand entry at the trailer launch of the upcoming Bengali film Fatafati.

The trailer launch of the upcoming Bengali film also saw the presence of director Aritra Mukherjee, producer duo Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy, Abir Chatterjee, Swastika Dutta, and others.

“This is the third association of Aritra with Windows after Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti and Baba, Baby O…When his earlier films were released, there was one problem or the other. However, even in that adverse situation, the film did well at the box office. This time we are hopeful that there is no problem like lockdown or pandemic and the audience can come and enjoy the film” said Shiboprosad Mukherjee.

Ritabhari will be seen playing the role of a tailor who has a great interest in fashion. She is a bit heavy and as a result, society will judge her daily. However, her character has a secret. She lives a double life. What happens when her passion collides with her struggles in daily life?

“I have gained 25 kilograms for the role. I maintained that weight throughout the shoot. However, I faced different challenges. But it paid off well when I see such a fantastic reaction to the trailer of this film. I know that a film cannot change everything in society. But I hope that with this film, body positivity can be promoted and body shaming can be reduced in society” said the actress.

Abir Chatterjee said “Manojder Adbhut Bari is one film of Windows where I had a small role. This film can be said to be my full-time association with Windows. I had a lovely time acting in this film. Body shaming must be shunned and this film aptly highlights that fact”.

The director mentioned that he combined his earlier experiences of directing the two films to make Fatafati. He hoped that the audiences will be more aware the next time and prevent body shaming in society.

Fatafati is slated for release on 12^th May.
