“I Play A Rural Woman For The First Time”-Swastika Mukherjee
“This is the first time that I have acted in the role of a village woman. Most directors have never thought of casting me in such a role. They have always found me to be too sophisticated to play such a role. I am thankful to director Rajesh Roy who thought that I could do justice to this role” said Swastika Mukherjee at press meet of her film Matripaksha at 29th KIFF.
Director Rajesh Roy and other crew members also graced the press conference.
This is the debut film of Rajesh Roy.

Bhutnath understands that most family members do not get along with one another. Rinku, the wife of the second son, and Tina, the youngest daughter of the family are also not on good terms. Rinku befriends Bhutnath. What happens next?
Swastika Mukherjee said “There have been many times when new directors have not approached me thinking that I would not do a film. As a result, I have missed out on many good films. The film shows an issue that is still prevalent in our society despite such progressions made by science and technology”.
