The cast and crew of the Bengali film Fotema graced the premiere of this film.

Sourav Ganguly was also present at the premiere of the Bengali film Fotema. He wished the entire team good luck and hoped that the film would be loved by the audiences.

The story revolves around Fotema whose studies are halted when her father becomes paralyzed. He is unable to drive the rickshaw and earn money for the family. As a result, her dreams also come to an end. She wanted to complete her studies, get a job, and end her family’s economic struggles. However, it does not go in that way.

She meets Sadhon Thakur, who is a priest. She does all the chores in his house. Her father also dies. She gets a place in Sadhon Thakur’s house. Sadhon Thakur considers Fotema as his sister. However, this is not accepted by the society. A man and a woman staying together from different religions become a huge problem for many. What happens next?

The cast of the film consists of Rahul Arunoday Banerjee, debutant Moon, Laboni Sarkar, Raju Majumdar, Santona Basu, Borun Chakraborty, Anindita Som, Manojit Boral and others.

Speaking at the event, Rahul said “This is a different character from the ones I have played before. I hope the audiences will love me in this character”.

The movie was shot in the village of Murshidabad.

Moon is debuting as Fotema and Rahul is playing the character of the Hindu priest in the movie. 

The film is directed by Atiul Islam.

Fotema can be watched on single screens and multiplexes in Kolkata.
