Starmark

In collaboration with Juggernaut, Starmark hosted a brief conversation and book signing with Nobel Laureate Abhijit Banerjee. Cheyyene Olivier, the illustrator of his new book Cooking to Save Your Life, accompanied him.

A cookbook from the Nobel Laureate in Economics has to be intriguing.

“This book grew out of many years of trying to impress our friends with meals that look fancy and taste delicious but come together quickly,” Abhijit Banerjee said.

Banerjee takes us through the recipes that have delighted his friends, colleagues, and students, from charred avocado to Andhra pork ribs, deconstructed salade niçoise to a trifle made in under 20 minutes, in this sensationally delicious cookbook. He riffs on Karl Marx, Bengali vegetarian cooking, and why soup is so comforting along the way.

This book, beautifully illustrated by Cheyenne Olivier, is one to read as well as experiment with the recipes.

The book has been published by Juggernaut and is priced at Rs 1,999/-.
