IACC To Strengthen International Relations With USA
India has developed into the world’s largest economy with the highest rate of growth over the previous 76 years, and the cooperation between the United States and India has largely come to be defined by shared goals, ideals, and aspirations.
Based on shared democratic values and a growing convergence of interests on bilateral, regional, and global issues, India-U.S. bilateral relations have evolved into a “Global Strategic Partnership”. The Indian government’s focus on development and good governance has given rise to an opportunity to rekindle bilateral relations and expand collaboration.
The partnership between the world’s oldest and greatest democracy and what has been called the most crucial strategic partner of the twenty-first century has now developed into robust engagements in the areas of commerce, defense, climate change, technology, education, and health. As anticipated in 2023, the two countries’ connection will solidify even further in order to solve today’s difficulties and remain a partnership for the benefit of all.
The goal of the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce‘s East India Council is to promote and support India’s G-20 presidency as well as the parallels between India’s priorities and those of the US. IACC, EIC hopes to conduct worthwhile sessions and stimulating talks throughout this one-day meeting in order to strengthen international relations.
The principal chief advisor to West Bengal Chief Minister Amit Mitra stated that the state has to improve its MSME sector, integrate its value chain, and create more jobs through exports.
Mitra added, “Exports from West Bengal to the US increased 55% over the previous period during 2022–23,” speaking remotely at an Indo–American Chamber of Commerce meeting. West Bengal exports to the US totaled between USD 13 and USD 15 billion”.
Nearly ten percent of India’s exports to the US originate from West Bengal. West Bengal is the fourth largest economy in the country in terms of net value added (NVA). Merchandise exports from India to the US have overtaken China. This denotes the nature of openness of the US-India relationship.
The major items of exports to the US from West Bengal are gems and jewelry, shrimp, human hair for wigs, industrial gloves, and others.
US Consul General in Kolkata Melinda Pavek said that both leaders (Joe Biden and Narendra Modi) reaffirmed how close the two nations’ (the US and India’s) relations are.
She claimed that compared to any other nation, India and the US undertake the most military drills. A prosperous, peaceful, and secure future is the goal of the US-India relationship. In 2023, the US wants to grant one million visas to nationals of India.
