ICAI’s 49th Regional Conference-Sole Focus On Unity & Inclusivity
The Eastern India Regional Council (EIRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) inaugurated its 49th Regional Conference, themed “WE”. It advocated collective strength, unity, and inclusivity.
The conference was inaugurated by Padma Shri. Harsh Vardhan Neotia, Chairman, Ambuja Neotia Group, CA. Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal, President, ICAI, CA. Charanjot Singh Nanda, Vice President, ICAI, CA. Aniket Sunil Talati, Immediate Past President, ICAI, CA. (Dr.) Debashis Mitra, Past President, of ICAI, and other Central & Regional Council Members of ICAI.
The two-day conference will explore the global perspective of the profession of chartered accounting, providing attendees with an opportunity to delve into previously unexplored areas such as tech automation, global and multidisciplinary practices, and various facets of our fraternity’s multifaceted evolution. More than 5,000 delegates from all around the country will be attending the event, which will include talks on a wide range of subjects and experience zones that have been carefully chosen to provide attendees with an incredibly insightful and instructive experience.
CA. Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal, President of ICAI, said, “Every industry is impacted by the contribution chartered accountants have made to the expansion and advancement of our nation, as the ICAI commemorates 75 years of excellence. The functions and responsibilities of CAs are constantly growing, ranging from non-financial reporting and auditing to direct tax collection and GST implementation.ICAI has long been a leader in the industry and an educator. The results of the May 2024 exams bear witness to the harshness of the new syllabus, which was introduced last year and set a new benchmark. When it comes to developing guidelines and standards to improve the nation’s accounting processes, ICAI is setting the benchmark”.
In addition, he said, “ICAI is dedicated to leveraging AI going forward, improving audit quality via our specialized center, and giving serious consideration to projects like panchayat and municipal accounting. We are committed to advancing innovation in every industry we touch and bolstering the profession, to unite 96,000 businesses”.
With its emphasis on the value of coordination, cooperation, and collaboration among professionals, industry experts, and market leaders, this conference is expected to be a major event. For the past 75 years, ICAI has been a pillar of the economy and a partner in nation-building.
The conference will take place on the 23rd and 24th of August 2024 at the Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan (Milan Mela), Kolkata.
