ICC Organized Energy Conclave 2022-Synergy In Energy In Kolkata
The “Energy Conclave 2022 – Synergy in Energy” was conducted by the Indian Chamber of Commerce to discuss how the energy sector will develop and consolidate with the help of state governments, businesses, technocrats, financial institutions, and consumers. The conference, which lasted a single day, concentrated on several facets of the energy sector in East and North East India. Energy consumption is a very reliable indicator of a nation’s rate of economic expansion. Energy production has recently been under pressure from all over the world to become cleaner and more effective in both its production and end uses, in order to give citizens a healthier environment. In order to achieve carbon neutral growth, renewable energy sources including solar, wind, and biomass have become more popular.
Gracing the occasion was Dr. Rajeev Singh (Director General, ICC), Mr. Gautam Ray (President – HR-Power Group, RPSG Group of Companies), Mr. Rabi Chowdhury (Managing Director – Generation, CESC Ltd), Mr. S. Suresh Kumar, IAS ( Additional Chief Secretary, Power, Government of West Bengal), Mr. Pradeep Sureka (President, ICC), Smt. Nandini Chakravorty, IAS (Principal Secretary, Non-Conventional Renewable Energy Sources, Government of West Bengal), Mr. Asim Prasad (ZCGM & OIC, Kolkata Zone GAIL), and Mr. Gaurav Moda (Energy Sector Leader, EY India).
“We have set the aim of reaching West Bengal’s renewable energy sources to 20 percent by 2030,” said Smt. Nandini Chakravorty, IAS Principal Secretary, Non-Conventional Renewable Energy Sources, Govt. of WB, during the conference. “This goal must be achieved, starting with little but powerful actions. So far, we have placed rooftop solar panels in 1954 schools, and work on additional 1890 schools is ongoing. These activities will make significant advancements toward sustainable development in addition to assisting us in reducing carbon emissions and achieving NET Zero earlier than the aim. In order to enhance the use of renewable sources, we plan to concentrate on the textile, horticultural, and agricultural industries” added Nandini Chakravorty.
Environmental protection is the need of the hour in every sector and this was amply highlighted during the conference.
