ICC Organizes Session About The Ongoing Rush To Passive Investment
Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) organized a session on the ongoing rush to passive investment among people. Mr. Indranath Chatterjee, Executive Director (F&A) of WBPDCL, Mr. Umesh Kumar Daila, Head – ETF Sales, Mirae Asset Mutual Fund, and Mr. Atanu Sen, Chairman of ICC National Expert Committee – BFSI were present at the session.
An investment strategy known as passive management follows a market-weighted index or portfolio. This is most prevalent in the equity market because index funds follow an index of the stock market, but it is also increasingly prevalent in other investment categories like bonds, commodities, and hedge funds.
The WBPDCL’s Executive Director (F&A), Mr. Indranath Chatterjee, stated, “A total of 332 businesses received special loans in the amount of 3 trillion USD in 2020. People can now invest directly in the market for sovereign bonds thanks to RBI. The debt market, however, is not a free market. Having said that one of our greatest assets in life is our mental and physical health, so we should all make an investment in it”.
According to Mr. Atanu Sen, Chairman of the ICC National Expert Committee, “The seminar’s main themes are time and diversification. Here, it’s crucial to keep a well-diversified portfolio. The main benefits of passive investment are low fees, transparency, and straightforward investment.”
