The Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturer’s Association (IEEMA) hosted E3, a two-day event that highlighted the Eastern Region’s energization and empowerment. The event united the electrical industry, technocrats, government, utilities, and new industry segments like cement plants, railroads, steel mills, and oil refineries on one stage. At this major event, more than 300 delegates from all over India were present. The leading organization of electrical, industrial electronics, and related equipment manufacturers in India is called IEEMA. For IEEMA members and stakeholders, E3 offered new perspectives and value additions.

10% of IEEMA members are from the East.

33 companies participated in this event and there were more than 200 sessions.

Some of the highlights of the conference were:

  • The Tripura government and other northeastern states are investing in the power sector to increase capacity generation and distribution to earn revenues. Tripura exported 160 MW of power to Bangladesh last year.
  • Investment of around 17 lakh crore for generating 150GW of solar power by 2030.

The theme of the session is Energy Transition which holds the key to tackling global energy and climate crisis

IEEMA is in active talks with the West Bengal Government to provide 1000-acre land near the national highway for setting up a dedicated Electrical and Electronics Park which would also be a new-age hi-tech manufacturing hub. The proposed deep water port at Tajpur would further boost exports. This would help us to bring in companies from across the globe to the renewable energy and electric vehicles (EV) manufacturing sector.
