The brand has over 15 lakh satisfied patients and a success rate of 91%. They have been in Kolkata since 2000. Patients opt for their services for treating hair, skin, and respiratory ailments along with allergies and PCOS amongst others.

The Kolkata Mail correspondent Priyanka Dutta caught up with Dr. Mukesh Batra, Founder, and Chairman of Dr. Batra’s Group of Companies, and Dr.Akshay Batra, Managing Director of Dr.Batra’sGroup of Companies in an exclusive conversation. Excerpts..

How important has homeopathy become during this global pandemic?

Dr. Mukesh Batra- It is very effective as it helps the people to not go in the later stages of the Covid. It stops the virus from spreading to the later stages and causing complications in the patients. We can save lives. Homeopathy has no side effects and hence it is better than the other drugs available for combating the pandemic.

The trick is early diagnosis and early treatment. That will help in saving lives.

Overtreatment, overprescribing must be avoided.

Though long Covid is not a medical term, people are suffering from anxiety and depression after Covid. Homeopathy is a holistic medicine and is helpful in these cases.

Pulmonary Function Test has been started at Dr. Batra’s to understand whether the person is Covid ready or Covid recovered. This helps to check the breathing capacity of the individual.

What is the book The Nation’s Homeopath all about?

Dr. Mukesh Batra- It narrates how my journey started from humble beginnings to having 200 clinics in the world. It is an unusual story of entrepreneurship. It is a part memoir and part guidebook for budding entrepreneurs. My challenges, successes, and my failures are all mentioned in the book. I believe that the book will benefit readers from any background.

I have also completed three more books after this book. They are all on Homeopathy. The next one is titled Homeopathy For All Ages. A Handbook For Homeopathy will release in January 2023.

I have also written a book on emotional health.

With so many supplements and immunity boosters available, are they really helpful for our health?

Dr. Mukesh Batra- Well. Immunity is not built in a day. Unless you are dieting or do not take proper meals, you do not require supplements. Taking supplements does not help in building immunity instantly. Immunity takes time to develop. Our Indian foods are the best. It has everything- sweet, sour, bitter foods. And the pandemic has made us understand that home-cooked meals are the best.

In some cases, however, supplements are necessary. That can be prescribed by the doctor.

Learn to listen to your body. A good doctor must know when to intervene and when not to intervene. Intervening at the right time is important.
