India-Post & Shipway To Provide Great Last-Mile Delivery Services
Shipway, Unicommerce’s logistics aggregation arm, has teamed with India Post to improve last-mile delivery services for e-commerce brands and retailers, ensuring flawless deliveries to remote places.
The agreement will enable last-mile delivery services outside of major cities, allowing online sellers and direct-to-consumer businesses to use India Post’s massive network of around 1,59,000 post offices nationwide. This will allow vendors to ship to remote locales and meet consumer demand in regions where no service providers now operate.
The agreement will also assist service providers in the BFSI business, who will now be able to deliver sensitive items and financial papers weighing no more than 250 grams.
Unicommerce, India’s premier e-commerce enablement SaaS platform, has recently acquired a 42.76% interest in Shipway. Unicommerce now provides end-to-end administration of pre and post-purchase operations for D2C brands, e-commerce platforms, and retail organizations, positioning it as a one-stop shop for all e-commerce and retail requirements.
Unicommerce, with a 930 million annual transaction run rate, 3550+ clients, 8800+ client warehouses, and 3150+ client stores collaborates with India’s major brands, leading marketplaces, and logistics service providers to allow end-to-end e-commerce operations. Beyond India, Unicommerce serves clients in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
As part of a larger picture in the e-commerce enablement arena, this connection expands their ability to make e-commerce more accessible to a wider audience beyond tier 2 cities.
