Indira AI Is Now India’s First AI-Powered Teaching Assistant For Schools

The first-of-its-kind interactive demonstration of Indira AI, an AI-powered humanoid teaching assistant created to reinvent the classroom experience, was held by Techno Billion AI (TBAI), the ed-tech innovation vertical of Techno India Group, in partnership with Makerlab.
Principals, educators, and elementary school pupils from all Techno India Group Public Schools (TIGPS) participated in the five-hour session, which was held at the Techno India Salt Lake Campus and gave them a firsthand look at India’s most cutting-edge classroom AI tool.
OpenAI and generative AI technologies power the voice-activated assistant Indira AI. Indira AI is designed to be a smooth, responsive, and emotionally intelligent educational partner that can help teachers with classroom tasks, host quizzes, gamify lessons, and respond to student enquiries in multiple languages.
Through Techno Billion AI, Meghdut Roychowdhury, Executive Director & Chief Innovation Officer of Techno India Group, is leading the initiative. Mr. Abhrajit Saha, Co-Founder & Director of TBAI, is providing operational leadership.
“This marks a sea change in our vision for the future of education in India and goes beyond a simple tech showcase. We are setting the stage for a generation that is accustomed to innovation by incorporating AI into early education. Indira AI is here to make education fun, engaging, and prepared for the future,” said Mr. Meghdut Roychowdhury, Chief Innovation Officer, Techno India Group, and Founder, Make Calcutta Relevant Again.
Prof. Manoshi Roychowdhury, Co-Chairperson of Techno India Group, has been instrumental in promoting inclusive and forward-thinking educational solutions and has strongly encouraged the event and larger initiative.
AI on Wheels, a mobile AI lab experience at the Indira AI workshop, encouraged kids to think beyond the textbook by involving them in certified AI projects and activities. The goal of Techno Billion AI is to use AI to empower one billion people, and this event is part of that goal. It aims to involve educators, parents, and students throughout India in the AI revolution, beginning in the classroom.
