The first look poster of director Indrasis Acharya’s new film “Niharika” is out now.

The Mist is the story of a woman who finally found her voice after a dark and abusive childhood, searching for her gender identity throughout her journey to adulthood, and how she embraced a house in a no man’s land to find a safe haven. It is the story of a different melancholic who lives far away from the fast-paced city life.

According to the director, the aim was to tell a story about a woman’s empowerment in an atmospheric setting, while also expressing the pain of a gender identity crisis and not being accepted for who she is. It is a story about a modern woman’s belief in love without boundaries, aided by the natural beauty around her and the house she lives in.

The director also added that the film wants to show a different kind of love that becomes stoic in terms of starting a new life, with the house and the place being the main focal point of the film. The film asks very relevant questions about womanhood and their identity crisis in the current human context.

The cast of the film consists of Shilajit Mazumdar, Anuradha Mukherjee, Anindya Sengupta, Mallika Mazumdar, Priyanka Guha, Rajeswari Paul, Sashi Guha, Juin Bagchi, Amit Chakraborty, Indira Mukherjee, Moloy Rakhhit, Prabal Mukherjee and Srabani Roy.

The music was composed by Joy Sarkar. Abarna Roy and Srabani Roy have sung the songs.
