Despite being the foundation of well-being, getting enough sleep is being overlooked in this fast-paced age. In light of the World Sleep Day slogan, “Make Sleep Health a Priority”, it is critical to realize that getting enough sleep is necessary for maintaining one’s physical, mental, and emotional health rather than being a luxury.

Chronic disease, elevated stress, and weakened immunity are just a few of the ailments that can result from inadequate sleep. The panel discussion’s catchphrase was to raise awareness of how people can enhance their daytime productivity, mood, and general health by adopting healthy sleep habits, such as maintaining a regular sleep schedule, minimizing screen time at night, and creating a peaceful environment.

The session, which was led by Dr. Shaswati Sengupta Datta, educated attendees on the significance of recognizing sleep disorders, and their symptoms and seeking early medical attention. Dr. Kunal Sarkar stressed the link between cardiovascular health and sleep during the conversation.

As he wrapped up the conversation, Dr. Souvik Roy Choudhury emphasized the grave consequences of long-term sleep disorders.

The discussion concluded by firmly raising awareness of sleep health issues and encouraging people to seek medical help for persistent sleep issues.
