Interfaith Khuti Puja At Bhowanipur 75 Palli; A First Of Its Kind Initiative
With the first-ever Interfaith Khuti Puja, Bhowanipur 75 Palli, which is well-known for its cultural magnificence and community involvement, created history and began its 60th year of Durga Puja celebrations. In an extraordinary ritual intended to foster harmony and respect for one another, religious leaders from various religions came together.
The occasion was graced by Mala Roy, Member of Parliament, Debasish Kumar, MLA, Ashim Basu, Councillor, Chandreyi Mitra, President Rotary Club of Calcutta Avyanna, Sanatan Dinda, Artist, Shib Shankar Das, Artist.
The Interfaith Khuti Puja was attended by Jain-Sri. Kailash Jain, Sikh – Sri. Tarseem Singh, Parsee – Sri. Jimmy Tangree, Hindu – Sri. Devakar Chaitanya, Ramkrishna Mission – Swami Paramananda Maharaj, Chinese Buddhist – Ms. Lucie, Christian – Father Martin, Bahai – Sri. Pallab Guha, Sindhi – Sri. Murali Punjabi, Islam – Mr. Imran Zaki & many others.
Bhowanipur 75 Palli is well known for its avant-garde puja festivities, which include distinctive pandal designs and creative projects that draw crowds year after year. “In our 60th year, we are thrilled to introduce the Interfaith Khuti Puja, which exemplifies our dedication to fostering unity through cultural diversity. This celebration of our customs deepens our ties to the neighborhood while also honoring them” said Mr. Subir Das, Club Secretary of Bhowanipur 75 Palli.
The Interfaith Khuti Puja served as a demonstration of Bhowanipur 75 Palli’s dedication to inclusion and cultural diversity. It was held at 1/1C, Debendra Ghosh Road, Bhowanipur, next to the Netaji Bhavan Metro Station.
