Interview: Dr. Mukesh Batra On Latest Technology AI Skin
AI Skin is the latest technology introduced by Dr. Batra’s. The Kolkata Mail correspondent Priyanka Dutta caught up with Dr. Mukesh Batra, Padma Shri Recipient, Founder and Chairman, Dr. Batra’s Healthcare over new techniques and achievements of Dr. Batra’s.
You introduced AI skin for the first time, tell us what it does and the benefits. What is the cost?
Dr. Mukesh Batra- We recently introduced AI Skin Pro which is the world’s 5th generation, artificial intelligence-based machine imported from South Korea for the first time in India. The benefits of AI Skin treatment are:
- The skin is divided into two layers: the upper and lower dermis. The superficial skin is all that can be seen with the naked eye. This AI machine contains four non-harmful, safe lasers that will catch the problem beneath the skin. Even if it appears five years later, our doctors can correct the problem before it appears.
- AI points out the areas of the face which cannot be seen with the naked eye and marks out where the problem is concentrated. This helps the doctor and the therapist to give greater attention to those parts. Thereby ensuring better results for the patient.
- After analyzing the patient’s skin condition, AI suggests personalized treatment, aesthetics, and products that would help the patient better.
- One of the challenges of measuring success in skin cases is that it is often subjective. AI Skin measures objectively the benefit even after one round of treatment.
Tell us about the aesthetic treatments in homeopathy. How can Indians benefit from it?
Dr. Mukesh Batra– At Dr. Batra’s(R), we have blended homeopathy with aesthetics to improve patient outcomes and provide faster results. We tackle the root of the problem through homeopathy and non-surgical aesthetics giving quick results. Indians can be benefited from homeopathic aesthetics in cases such as acne, pigmentation, premature aging, and Photo dermatitis.
Dr. Batra’s® New You range of treatments also includes the world’s first Homeopathic Hydrafacial treatment equipped with the latest Korean technology and European-made serums that nourish, hydrate and replenish your skin in just 45 minutes.
How is homeopathy helpful in taking care of hair and skin problems?
Dr. Mukesh Batra- There are 40 different reasons for hair loss and hair loss is a medical concern, not a cosmetic one. Doctors at Dr. Batra’s(R) are trained in dermatology and trichology. They first determine the medical reason for hair loss and then treat it medically from the root. For example, many patients with hair loss suffer from thyroid, anemia, and polycystic ovarian disorder (PCOD), and setting this right helps treat hair loss. A certain kind of hair loss called alopecia areata (hair loss in patches) is an autoimmune disorder and gets precipitated by stress. Homeopathy being mind-body medicine, helps to deal with this. Similarly, a homeopathic plant medicine called Thuja is useful in patients with male pattern baldness. One of the reasons for hair loss in males is the hormone, DHT. Thuja acts as a DHT inhibitor thus, reducing hair loss.
Our skin is often the mirror of our internal health. Excessive dryness of skin may indicate a thyroid problem and acne with irregular periods and excessive facial hair may suggest PCOD. A homeopath treats skin problems in totality taking into account emotional environmental, physical, and internal problems that may present common skin problems like skin allergies, psoriasis, dermatitis, and the like.
What is the response to the AI skin and other aesthetic skin treatments that you have introduced?
Dr. Mukesh Batra- We have introduced homeopathy with aesthetic treatments for the past few years and over three lac patients have been treated and benefited. AI skin treatments have just been launched and have met with great success already, having treated more than 400 patients in a couple of weeks.
Is Dr. Batra writing any new books? What is it on?
Dr. Mukesh Batra- Yes, my next book is on Homeopathy and Emotional and mental health.
With AI coming in a huge way, how much impact will it have on Homeopathy?
Dr. Mukesh Batra– To get to the right prescription for a single patient there are over 98 thousand permutations and combinations. This could take days when done manually. AI helps us to get to the right remedy at the click of a button. The homeopath then uses his experience to prescribe the right remedy for his patients.
Homeopathic case-taking requires a lot of time for data entry which can be saved by using AI. This will leave the homeopath more time to do clinical work. In clinical practice, a lot of time is lost in answering routine patient queries which can be answered by AI.
Through machine learning at Dr. Batra’s(R), we can use the benefit of the past 15 lac patients that we have treated to benefit future patients who present with similar problems.
