You have got your big break in mainstream Bollywood with the song Para Para from Judgementall Hai Kya. How did you bag this offer?

Arun Dev Yadav- Getting this life changing song was just a casual call from my friend musician composer Dixant Shorya who has done the entire sound design and arrangement of Para Para. Earlier I had been singing for him and he called me for a project which I didn’t know was such a big one. So I went to his studio Muzik factory where I met Rachita Arora who is the music director of the film JudgeMentall Hai Kya. And that’s how it started and they loved my voice.

What were your initial feelings when you bagged such a song in such a much hyped film?

Arun Dev Yadav- When I came to know about the level of work, I felt I have to give my best and live that moment and sing more than their expectation. I just gave my blood and sweat and it blossomed well.

Tell us something about the song.

Arun Dev Yadav- Para Para is a song to live in. When you hear it, you will actually be blown by the energy and the fun of the song. The song has a blend of the RD Burman feel and fun of retro era in new age music. It has tongue twisters, vocal improvisations, comedy drama and so on. It is actually a 4.5 min film altogether revolving around the funny and crazy character of Bobby who is Kangana. This song is surely going to stand out against in this age of forced EDM and remixes which will pull crowd of all age groups.

I suggest you to hear it once and you will get to know more of it in a better way.

How did you begin your journey in the world of music?

Arun Dev Yadav- My journey started when I was 11 and started singing in school musical competitions. I was always loved for my voice and emotions. I learned music and then gradually began performing in reality shows. Then I finally got fame by winning a singing reality show Suron Ka Mahasangram in Mahuaa Channel. Then I finally moved to Mumbai for singing and living dreams in Bollywood. So far the journey has been full of struggle, hardships, failures, but I never quit my dream and I finally started making my space in the world of cinema.

Who are you inspirations in the world of music?

Arun Dev Yadav- My first inspiration is my father who saw this spark in me and nourished it till now and has always been there.

Talking about idols-my inspirations in music are Michael Jackson, Md. Rafi, Kishore Da, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, RD Burman, SD Burman, Madan Mohan, Lata Mangeshkar, KK, Arijit Singh, Master Saleem, Brian Adams, Cold Play, Hans Zimmer, Yanni and many more.

What other projects do you have in your kitty at the moment?

Arun Dev Yadav- Let this be a surprise. I need prayers of the audience but yes big things are coming up. There are some really great melodies coming along in films.

How do you think this song will affect your career in the long run?

Arun Dev Yadav- It will surely give me a position and recognition for my versatility and rawness and emotions. In this crowd and competitive industry it will give me a special space where I can be known for my originality.

Are you open to sing in other languages as well?

Arun Dev Yadav- Yes I have always been keen to sing in multiple languages like Hindi, bengali, Punjabi, Marathi, Bhojpuri, Nepali, Tamil and many more. I feel music has no language but it has different colours. I recently sang an amazing Telugu love song Edho Edho for Ram Gopal Varma in his big film Bhairav Geeta which released last year. I am keen to sing more such songs.

Baba Sehgal called Bollywood Copywood recently due to the remixing of old Bollywood film songs. What is your take on this issue?

Arun Dev Yadav- Everyone has their own opinion on music and I feel Bollywood music is not just about copying things. It is like an ocean and it has given many original artists and musicians whose songs will forever remain in our hearts. But yes still in these modern times of remixes and copied songs, songs which are original and soulful with melody will always stand out. My song is an example.

What kind of songs will you like to sing in the future?

Arun Dev Yadav- I cannot say which kind or type. I feel any song which will be coming to me, I will make it mine and sing in a way so that it is loved by everyone and which will be remembered for a long time.

Wishing the talented singer all the best for his upcoming projects!!
