Tell us something about the single “Reflection”.
Srijani Ghosh- Reflection as the word suggests is about reflecting on our journey. It is a soft romantic song that talks about passionate and unconditional love, pain, falling apart, accepting, and moving on. So it’s a song that allows us to introspect our journey in life.
Why did you bring out a single with a ghazal flavor when other singers are all opting for fast-paced numbers?
Srijani Ghosh-Very interesting question! I wanted to do something different and connect with the audience in a more emotional and sentimental way. Reflection is my story of life in many ways so keeping in mind those sentiments a single with a ghazal flavor was any day a preferred option.
How was the feeling when so many eminent personalities released your song?
Srijani Ghosh– I was overwhelmed and honored. Felt extremely privileged and blessed to have them on board! It was much more than a dream come true for me! It also happened as I got the opportunity to work with one of the most noted lyricist Aalok Shrivastav who penned the song and it got amazingly composed by one of the best ghazal composers of this age Sudeep Banerji who composed it! So it all came together for me.
How did you begin your journey in music?
Srijani Ghosh- My journey in music began in childhood as my mother was a singer and my father played tabla. And also being a Bengali learning music or any form of creative art is a part of growing up. So I also took formal training and still take training from my Guruji’s and the journey continues.
What kind of songs do you love to sing?
Srijani Ghosh- I love to sing any good composition with lyrics that I can relate to. It has to stimulate me and make me think and I will love to sing it.
Have you got offers to sing in Bengali films?
Srijani Ghosh- I would love to get offers from Bengali films! Hope that happens someday! However,I have recorded and released a Bengali Album – Ichhe Rong penned and composed by my Guruji Shri Goutam Ghoshal. I also recorded a Bengali Single in 2019 which was penned by Srijato and composed by Joy Sarkar!
What are your next projects?
Srijani Ghosh- I do have a few things in the pipeline coming up. I have recorded a wedding saga with an amazing music director Amar Kandha and I have recorded a song with one of the most melodious music directors Arko Pravo Mukherjee which is going to release soon.
