Nature gives us so much but we hurt Nature in the worst way possible. Time has come for us to realize that we need to take care of Nature. Only then can we survive and also make the world a better place for our future generations” said actress Sohini Sarkar at the plantation drive of Siddha Group.

The well-known real estate developer Siddha Group launched its massive Plantation Drive today with the goal of advancing environmental sustainability and improving community welfare.

Apart from Sohini Sarkar, the Plantation Drive was graced by distinguished personalities, including Dr. Dhriti Banerjee, Director, The Zoological Survey of India, Aloke Sanyal, Assistant Commissioner, Kolkata Police (Headquarters), and Siddharth Sethia, Joint Managing Director, Siddha Group in collaboration with NGOs Mrittika Earthy Talks Foundation and Harimitti.

A group of eager kids also participated in the occasion, planting the trees alongside the distinguished guests. With this group effort, a big step towards building a more sustainable and greener future has begun.

The Siddha Group’s continued dedication to halting climate change, minimising environmental degradation, and protecting biodiversity is demonstrated by this effort, which got its start in New Town, Kolkata.Given the urgency of these issues, Siddha Group has committed to planting 50,000 seedlings by the year 2030. The guests planted 100 seedlings at the beginning of the campaign, and then the kids did the same, opening the door for more community and stakeholder participation.

The Siddha Group’s overarching goal of incorporating sustainability into both its main business activities and community outreach programmes is reflected in The Plantation Drive. In order to live up to its promise, Siddha planted 50,000 trees between 2012 and 2015. Siddha Group hopes to significantly contribute to international efforts to mitigate climate change and restore natural ecosystems by collaborating with a variety of partners. in the days ahead.
