It’s A Double Win For Bengali Films!!
Gange Sur Seine Film Festival is among the renowned film festivals in France. Two Bengali films were awarded at this film festival. Naseeruddin Shah won the Best Actor award for his acting in the film A Holy Conspiracy while the award for Best Actress went to debutant Sangeeta Ballav for Demokkracy.
The film festival took place from the 5th to the 8th of October.
The double win is a great honor for Bengali films. With A Holy Conspiracy, Late Soumitra Chatterjee and Naseeruddin Shah worked together for the first time. It was directed by Saibal Mitra.
Director Tushar Ballov was extremely happy and excited about this win as the film Demokkracy is yet to be released in cinema halls.
Tushar’s film is an independent film revolving around politics and society. It shows the life of a balloon seller Gopal. He gets mixed up in a case involving a politician’s stolen shoe. What happens next?
Actress Sangeeta was equally excited about her win at an international film festival. She said that this award increased her responsibilities and also motivated her to work hard in the near future.
Congratulations to both teams!!
