NSS Volunteers from JD Birla Institute celebrated Rakhi with impoverished children throughout Kolkata in a touching project, bringing happiness and love on this joyous day.

To create a sense of family and belonging, volunteers from the Management Department went to The Refuge, an organization that helps orphaned children. There, they tied rakhis to their younger brothers.

At the same time, Commerce Department volunteers spent the day cheering up the children from stratum and slums at Future Hope, an NGO, by celebrating Rakhi with them.

Another touching act of kindness was performed on Rakhi by JD Birla Institute‘s NSS Volunteers in the Science Departments. They tied rakhis to kids at the Calcutta Social Project, an NGO that works to improve the lives of street and slum children by creating a sense of community and compassion among the city’s most vulnerable residents.

This festival played a significant role in JDBI’s larger goal of enlisting students in social work that has a lasting effect on children from Kolkata’s underprivileged neighborhoods, refugee camps, and slums. Beyond following custom, the Rakhi celebrations were an authentic display of community love, kindness, and camaraderie.
