Journalists play an important role in our society as they are the bridge between the common people and the Government. During this pandemic, many journalists have lost their lives due to Covid 19.

Keeping that in mind Jagannath Gupta Institute of Medical Sciences & Hospital (JIMSH) & Budge Budge Institute of Technology (BBIT) has taken the initiative to announce medical assistance to the deceased family members of the journalists who have lost their lives due to COVID-19.

The event took place in the presence of Mr. KK Gupta, Vice Chairman, JIMSH & BBIT, Dr. Kaushik Hazra, MD Assistant Professor, General Medicine JIMSH, Mr. Siladitya Bandopadhyay, Professor & Dean Diploma BBIT, Tulika Basu Actress along with Mr. Snehasis Sur President, Press Club at Kolkata Press Club.

In many situations, we have witnessed violence against journalists. This event was to acknowledge their work and to spread a strong message in society “why journalists are called the -fourth pillar of democracy”.
