Known for its unique bridal couture and design aesthetic, Kalighata has unveiled Kalighata Pret, a brand-new ready-to-wear occasion wear concept store created for contemporary festivities.

The inauguration was graced by eminent actress Nusrat Jahan.

The goal of Kalighata Pret is to make occasion dressing simple, available, and instantaneous. Kalighata Pret offers designer Indo-Western looks that are ready to wear right away, allowing customers to walk into the store and find the ideal outfit without having to wait weeks for production, in contrast to traditional designer stores, where outfits are frequently made-to-order.

Nusrat Jahan said, “I have been part of the other store launch on Elgin Road as well. So coming to the inauguration of this shop is a special feeling for me. This store has contemporary designs for all. The dresses are lightweight, very contemporary designs, and have great shades”.

The actress also revealed that she wears dresses as per the needs of the occasion. “If it requires traditional attire, you will find me in that dress. If the need is to dress up for a cocktail party, my style will be different. I love wearing both Indian and Western dresses,” added the actress.

The entire collection has been carefully divided into four categories based on events:

• Cocktail Evening: For evening festivities and cocktail parties
• Bridesmaids: Intended for visitors to weddings and wedding festivities
• Day Event: Considering the increasing popularity of brunches and daytime events
• Festive Modern: Festive attire with a modern twist

The idea captures the modern consumer’s changing lifestyle, which emphasizes frequent celebrations but time constraints.

“These days, people want gorgeous clothing that is ready to wear right away. Fashion needs to adapt to that lifestyle because modern women are multitasking and constantly on the go,” said Ritesh Kamani, founder of Kalighata.

Years of experience managing the brand’s bridal couture division gave rise to the concept for Kalighata Pret.

“Bridal outfits are planned months in advance, but people frequently need something lovely but instantly available for cocktail evenings, receptions, brunches, or celebratory gatherings. To bridge that gap and bring designer aesthetics into a ready-to-wear format, Kalighata Pret was founded,” added Kamani.

In the future, the company wants to transform Kalighata Pret into a place where accessibility and style coexist and occasion dressing is effortless.

This store is only the start. The goal is to create a place where people can experience fashion that feels stylish, thoughtful, and easy to wear for every celebration.
