At Lakmé Fashion Week, Swatti Kapoor exhibited a collection of fluid, flowing women’s clothing in collaboration with FDCI that projected an alluring aesthetic for the next season. The pomegranate’s vibrant colors sent Swatti’s creativity on a healthy, trendy journey, which made for an uncommon source of inspiration. Swatti discovered after researching the pomegranate’s past that Venus, the Greek goddess of love, had a thing for the fruit. She planted a tree in Cyprus that gave the fruit the connotation of being a representation of femininity, love, and fertility.

Swatti’s “Venus” collection, which kept the overall concept under control, adhered to the brand’s tried-and-true strategy of using only pure, sustainable fabrics and construction methods for her highly ethical clothing line. The textiles’ minimal carbon footprint and wastage were also guaranteed by the designer, who also made sure that they were repurposed and upcycled.

The choice of exquisite Chanderi, which came in weights between 40 and 50 grams, further emphasized the feminine delicacy of the clothing. The very easy, relaxing silhouettes were finished off with fine mul, Chanderi, and khadi. Pintucks and pleating were the only details used to draw attention to the surface texturing, while block prints, hand embroidery, and beadwork adorned the collection further.

The selection of clothing featured items that would become popular among those who follow fashion and want a modern, international feel in their outfits. Shirts, slacks, dresses, skirts, dupattas, kurtas, and tunics, and a lyrical assortment of scarves and overlays in a wide range of colors were available.
