The stars of the series Khakee: The Bengal Chapter came together at the historic Esplanade Tram Depot to honor Kolkata’s illustrious tram, a timeless symbol of the city’s spirit, culture, and tenacity, in a heartfelt homage to its rich past.

As Bollywood celebrities and some of Bengal’s most revered icons gathered to pay tribute to this timeless symbol, the event transformed into a visual extravaganza.

The event was graced by Prosenjit Chatterjee, Jeet Madnani, Saswata Chatterjee, Chitrangada Singh, Ritwik Bhowmik, Aadil Zafar Khan, creator Neeraj Pandey and director Debatma Mandal.

With the city’s beloved trams serving as the backdrop, the event skilfully combined film and history to provide a moving moment of remembrance and appreciation for Kolkata’s rich cultural heritage. The series is set in the early 2000s, and viewers will also catch glimpses of the tram, strengthening the link between the show’s plot and the city’s history.

The celebration, a tribute immortalized in time, strengthened the close ties between Kolkata’s history and its cinematic story, leaving guests with a deep respect for the city’s resilient spirit.

The series will be out on 20th March.
