Kolkatanama is a fashion brand that is the brainchild of designer Santanu Guha Thakurta and Upendra Bin.

The Kolkatanama Bengali Calendar for the year 1431 was launched in the presence of designer Santanu Guha Thakurta, actress Sudipta Banerjee, Kolkata models namely Tamori Chowdhury, Susmita Roy, Anirban Khanra, Piyush Misra, and Kasturi Ghosh Halder.

Kolkatanama since its inception has been breathing new life in the traditional crafts and giving it a new perspective. This perspective is in line with modern sensibilities.

Speaking at the calendar launch, the designer said “I fuse the traditional with the contemporary in my designs. This helps to maintain the pureness of the art and also brings in modern elements. I believe modern fashion should be sustainable. That is good for the environment”.

Sudipta Banerjee looked pretty in a saree with Kolkatanama printed on it. The actress said that she was mesmerized by the way the designer had infused elements of Kolkata in his creations.

Apart from saris, coasters, cushion covers, and other accessory items are also available at Kolkatanama.
