The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat announced their forthcoming Korean Pop-Up with Chef Jiyeol Kim, which will take place at Nori from May 19–21, 2023. The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea have teamed up to create The Korean Pop-Up. The beginning of diplomatic ties between India and Korea will be 50 years old in 2023. The three-day festival will highlight Korean cuisine and culture, offering visitors a distinctive and all-encompassing experience.

The purpose of the event is to enhance cultural relations between India and Korea while promoting Korean culture. The event will be inaugurated by the Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Kolkata. In honor of the golden jubilee, Executive Chef Vivek Kalia will collaborate with Master Chef Ji Yeol Kim, who serves as the official chef of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, to create a lavish Korean menu that honors Korean street food. On the occasion, Chef Ji Yeol Kim will give live demonstrations so that guests can see his skill in action. Live performances by Korean musicians and dancers will also be part of the event, offering a unique chance to experience the vibrant Korean culture.

The two-day event will include a workshop on Kimchi and Modern Korean Cuisines to be conducted by the esteemed Korean Chef Ji Yeol Kim. Food Connoisseurs will be delighted with the Korean Bento with a range of authentic Korean dishes like Chicken Tteokgalbi, DubuTangsuyuk, Mushroom Bulgogi, DubuJorim, DakGalbi, Saengseongui to name some.
