The trailer launch of Kuler Achaar took place in the presence of director Sudeep Das, Indrani Halder, Neel Mukherjee, Vikram Chatterjee, Madhumita Sarcar, and Prosen.

Kuler Achaar is an exhilarating rollercoaster that tells a tale about a woman’s desire to retain her maiden surname and the humorous yet poignant complexities that surround the idea.

The film is a family drama, written and directed by Sudeep Das. This is his first collaboration with SVF. Mainak Bhaumik is the creative director of ‘Kuler Achaar’. The music of the film is composed by ‘Prosen Er Dol Bol’ and the background music is by Savvy.

The ensemble cast includes Indrani Halder, Neel Mukherjee, Madhumita Sarcar, and Vikram Chatterjee. Madhumita will be back after the huge success of ‘Cheeni’ and ‘Tangra Blues’. Vikram Chatterjee will be seen playing the role of Pritam – Mithi’s supportive and liberal husband.

Indrani Halder will be back on the big screen after a hiatus of almost five years. She will be seen playing Madhumita’s mother-in-law, while Neel Mukherjee will be seen playing the role of Mithi’s father-in-law.

“Kuler Achaar is an interesting subject. The name might sound like it is based on a light subject. The presentation of the film is very simple. The name of the film has two meanings. Kul refers to the fruit and also to the lineage. Achaar refers to pickle and also to the way one behaves. There are different layers to the story” said Indrani Halder.

“Is the surname very important? Why does a woman have to change her surname? This is the subject matter of the film. We have dealt in a light-hearted manner with this serious topic. We have not tried to make it preachy” said Sudeep Das.

Neel Mukherjee said, “The audience will hate my character in the initial stages of the film. However in the end they will like me. Let’s see the reaction of the audience when the film releases”.

Prasen said that the songs do not have any prior history. The songs have been made out of the blue and they have gelled really well with the story of the film.

Vikram said that Kuler Achaar is a family film and it can be watched by the entire family.
