Largest Winter Carnival Kolaahal Organized By The Heritage School
The largest winter carnival Kolaahal was hosted by the Heritage School on its campus, and it was attended by prominent Indian classical singer Ms. Kaushiki Chakraborty as well as a visual artist Mr. Susanta Paul, who served as the event’s chief guest. More than 5000 children and parents participated in a variety of carnival activities, including clay modeling, art and craft, music, dancing, photography, skill games, land zorbing, tattooing, and more. Parents and students were awestruck by what their children were doing. Children with special needs and pupils from Suryakiran, a free school run by the Kalyan Bharti Trust for the disadvantaged, also performed in a dance event at the carnival.
“It is great to see that the School gives so much emphasis on art and craft starting from clay modeling, painting, sculpting, and many more which are very rarely seen in other schools. These activities help the students to be attached to their cultural Heritage,” said Mr. Susanta Paul during the opening ceremony.
Ms. Kaushiki Chakraborty said, “I must applaud the teachers who have helped the students in making this event successful. It makes me feel happy to see the students, teachers, and parents actively participating in various cultural activities”.
The school’s principal, Ms. Seema Sapru, stated that the instructors put a lot of effort into making this event happen after it was postponed for four years because of the Covid-19 outbreak.
Mr. Vikram Swarup, the school’s chairman, was also present at the event.
According to the current National Education Policy 2020, recycling garbage with a focus on Sustainable Development Goals, inclusive education, and innovation was given the utmost emphasis in this event.
The students also staged a play with a focus on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
