Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital, Kolkata announced that they had conducted for the first time in Kolkata a new innovation for angle closure glaucoma cases. The latest technique Single Pass Four Throw Pupilloplasty was used to cure an individual who got back her vision after the surgery.

Dr Ashar Agarwal, Head Clinical Services, Dr Agarwal’s Group of Eye Hospitals and 49 year old patient Mrs Lila Biswas graced the press conference.

The patient had severe eye complaints in her left eye. After examination at Dr Agarwal’s Eye Hospital, she was advised to undergo cataract operation and the new technique was done on her left eye.

Speaking at the event, Dr Agarwal said “It is very easy to take care of eye hygiene. You need to take some simple steps like wash your eyes in the morning, take breaks when you are working on the computer, use eye drops to lubricate your eyes and so on. You need to go to the doctor at regular intervals to get your eyes checked if you have high blood pressure or sugar levels”.

With the help of this technique, the patient recovered within a span of two weeks.

Dr Agarwal mentioned that this is among the latest techniques for pupil reconstruction.
