Launch Of 5th Dementia Day-Care Center Announced In Kolkata

Dementia is on the rise in our country. However, due to a lack of medical treatment, the best solution is to give them care and management that helps them live with dignity.

Dignity Foundation announced the launch of their 5th dementia day-care center in Kolkata. This was followed by the inauguration of the National Alliance for Dementia Care (NADC). This has been developed for raising awareness, enhancing care standards, and advocate policies for supporting people with Alzheimer’s disease and similar disorders.

This announcement was graced by Alokananda Roy, Dignity Foundation brand ambassador and social activist, Gopal Srinivasan, trustee of Dignity Foundation, Arpita Bhattacharya, Vice-President of the Rasoi Group and Ruma Chatterjee, Kolkata Chapter of Dignity Foundation.

Dignity Foundation is a renowned NGO that has been working for 28 years. They have been working for the welfare of the senior citizens in India. They work mainly with people affected by Alzheimer’s Disease and similar ailments.

It has five centers located in Chennai, Mumbai, New Delhi Pune, and Kolkata.

These centers have trained caregivers who understand the problem and then respond accordingly to the needs of the members at the center.

Members spend their time at the centers doing activities like exercises, therapy sessions, drawing, coloring, listening to music, and many more.

These centers give relief to family members who often cannot give time due to work or lack of proper knowledge.

The launch of this facility, will raise awareness about timely diagnosis of the disease and also provide ample care to these people.
