Shamit Das, a senior corporate executive, writer, performer, and art enthusiast, made a fantastic effort to organize a large event titled Lest We Forget with many participants from all across the nation.

The program’s idea was appropriate and relevant in today’s times.

His gifted daughter Kuhu (Shinjini) opened with a lovely shloka in her melodic voice. Numerous local organizations were allowed to perform.

It was a program of protest against the disregard for women.

Ms. Taslima Nasrin led a group of ladies in lighting a lamp to begin the program. She added that we must continually strive for equal rights for women in general and not distinguish between complementary men and women.

Along with Shamit, Prabuddha Raha of Kolkata, Jayati Ghosh of Delhi, Shurjo Bhattacharya of Mumbai, and other Delhi participants graced the event.

Prabir Brahmachari recited a few pertinent poems.

But that day’s surprise was a young, vibrant, and strong drama troupe called Sukhmanch, who performed magic on stage as part of their protest against numerous social injustices.

The music was handled by Anirudh Chowdhury, Ashim Das, Mintal Gazi, Pankaj Mishra, and Amaresh Chakravorty.

The event ended with Aaguner Poroshmoni.
