This Janmashtami, Lotus Rescue, a dedicated non-governmental organization that supports underprivileged children, women, and the transgender community, celebrated Joy of Giving. This special ceremony, which was organized to honor the auspicious day of Janmashtami, aims to raise awareness of Krishna consciousness while providing happiness and joy to the less fortunate.

Hon’ble Chief Guest Ms. Ruchika Gupta, President of Sanmarg Daily and the Founder Guardian of Aparajita, inaugurated the event.

Respected ISKCON Kolkata leader Maha Raas Das captivated the audience with spiritual insight and devotional music during his informative talk on Krishna consciousness and lovely kirtan in the afternoon.

There were several activities geared at the participants’ physical and spiritual well-being during the “Joy of Giving” festival. More than 200 people attended a free health camp hosted by the National Homeo Laboratory, which made sure the less fortunate could get the necessary medical care.

The Satyadeo Rama Agarwal Trust arranged prasad for almost 3,000 Lotus Rescue beneficiaries, adding to the festivities. In addition, the Rotary Club Of Kolkata Benevolence hosted a blood donation camp, supporting the selfless act of saving lives while also meeting the community’s medical requirements. Additionally, the Rotary Club held a drawing competition that involved 200 kids in a happy and creative endeavor.

More than 200 youngsters received gifts from the Lions Club of Kolkata Empowering to further increase happiness among the kids. This helped to make sure that every kid got to enjoy the fun and festivities of the holiday season. A local dance company called Srijani Nritya Kala Kendra, under the direction of Partho Pratim Modak, gave lively dance performances during the event as well. The group was allowed to show off their skills and get recognition in the community.

To guarantee that the heritage of giving and community service continues, Lotus Rescue wanted to incorporate a youth club in the celebration, so the Friends Club of Sealdah, a local community group, played a big role in planning it.
