Love Roses? Visit The 34th Annual Rose Show
The Lion Safari Park in Rabindra Sarobar Area will be full of colors and amazing aromas. This is due to the 34th Annual Rose Show of the Bengal Rose Society.
It is jointly organized with the Lions Club of Calcutta North.
The three-day event was inaugurated by Mr. Diptendu Bera, Director of Horticulture, Government of West Bengal, Mr. Justice G. N. Ray, former Justice Supreme Court of India and former Chief Justice, Gujarat High Court, Lion Mrs. Manisha Agarwal, and Lion Ratan Dugar.
Roses of all hues, forms, and sizes will be shown as cut flowers or potted roses by private persons and organizations. A group of distinguished specialists on roses judged the exhibits, and the show was made public.
The exhibition of potted roses, which produce more than 200 flowers simultaneously, is a captivating aspect of the Bengal Rose Society Annual Rose Show. This kind of rose culture is exclusive to Bengal, where skilled growers take months to care for their beauty so that showgoers can enjoy them for a few days. It is a visual feast for the eyes. At the Show, several Bengali rose breeders will also showcase their most recent varieties.
This annual event is coordinated by Dr Narendra Dadlani (President), Mr. M. B. Guin (Secretary) & Mr. Sanjoy Mukherjee (Joint Secretary) of the Bengal Rose Society, Mr. Pravin Chharia (Chairman), Mr. O.P.Bangur (Secretary) & Mr. S. S.
