The Luxor Group, a well-known Indian organization and a pioneer in the nation’s writing instrument market, commemorated the 80th birthday of its late founder, Mr. D.K. Jain. The Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, and Government of India commemorated the event by releasing a special commemorative stamp in Mr. Jain’s honor.

On February 16, 2023, in New Delhi, the Department of Posts’ Mr. Ashok Kumar Yadav, Postmaster General Foreign Post, released the commemorative stamp at a ceremony that was also attended by prominent dignitaries, business partners, industry leaders, and employees of the company.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of Luxor, which has made a name for itself as a major player in the market both domestically and internationally.

The postal stamp honors Mr. D.K. Jain, an acknowledged industry pioneer and the inventor of writing instruments in India. Early visionary, he started his adventure at a modest manual assembly shop in Old Delhi, where he started making his own pens in 1961, employing just himself and four other people.

As time went on, Luxor established itself as a major player and achieved numerous firsts, including the introduction of well-known brands like Parker, Waterman, and Pilot to India. A new era in the nation’s writing instrument sector was ushered in by Mr. Jain’s vision, commitment, and an unwavering pursuit of perfection.

With Mr. Jain’s passing in 2014, his wife Mrs. Jain has served as Luxor’s Chairperson, and Mrs. Pooja Jain Gupta as Managing Director.
