The trailer of Madam Sengupta, directed by Sayantan Ghosal and presented by Nandy Movies, was unveiled at Acropolis Mall in a grand event attended by the film’s cast and crew.

The evening was attended by lead actress Rituparna Sengupta, Ananya Chatterjee, Subrat Dutta, Ratan Sarkhel, Raunak Dey Bhowmick, Indrani Bhattacharyya, producer Pradip Kumar Nandy, director Sayantan Ghosal, music director Anupam Roy, and other prominent members of the team, who shared insights into the making of this gripping tale.

With a compelling storyline and powerful performances, Madam Sengupta is all set to stir excitement ahead of its release.

Madam Sengupta follows renowned cartoonist Anurekha Sengupta (Rituparna Sengupta) as she investigates the horrific murder of her daughter Ananya at Bengali University, set against the colorful and chaotic backdrop of Kolkata. She is drawn into a murky world of political rivalries, family strife, and covert agendas as a result of her investigation.

Abol Tabol, a famous piece of satirical poetry by Sukumar Ray, is a defining element in the movie. It functions as a mirror and a motif, reflecting the quiet tragedies and fantastical absurdities that Anurekha must face. Madam Sengupta examines the disturbing nexus of satire, grief, and rebellion through this prism.

The cast of the film consists of Rituparna Sengupta, Rahul Bose, Ananya Chatterjee, Koushik Sen, Paran Bandhopadhyay, Kharaj Mukherjee, Subrat Dutta, Debopriyo Mukherjee, Shantilal Mukherjee, and Ratan Sarkhel.

The music is by Anupam Roy, and the background score is by Indraadip Dasgupta.

Madam Sengupta will be released in theatres on July 4, 2025.
