The mahurat of the upcoming Bengali film Mon Maaney Na took place at 23 Pally Durga Mandir in the presence of the cast and crew of the film.

The film is a grand tribute to the love stories of the 1990s.

Rahool Mukherjee said, “I grew up in 23 Pally, Kalighat. The film’s story revolves around young people. So I thought of organizing the Mahurat in the area where I grew up, where I fell in love, and have so many memories of growing up. The entire cast is energetic and talented. And hence I am very excited. This is the debut film of Hiya, and I am grateful to Srijit Mukherji for introducing her to me. Ritwik is doing amazing work in Mumbai. I am looking forward to working with them all”.

Ritwik Bhowmik is making his debut in Bengali films with Mon Maaney Na. The actor said that the story chose him. “This is a love story and is a tribute to the ’90s films. I get to dance and act in the film. For the preparations, I have polished my language, done workshops, and watched Hindi and Bengali films of the 90s,” said the actor.

The actor who had worked with Saswata Chatterjee in Khakee: The Bengal Chapter said, “I found some similarities between Apu da and Hiya. Apu da brought energy and great fun whenever he was around on the sets. I find the same level of energy in Hiya as well”.

Hiya was visibly excited at the mahurat. “I enjoy love stories. And to get a chance to work in a film with a love story is a great opportunity. I will try my level best to live up to the expectations of the audience. I hope to get the same level of love that my father and grandfather received from the audience,” said the debutant actress.

“I have seen her passion for acting from a young age. She had always participated in cultural events at school. In class 12, she received the outstanding award for dramatics in her school. She has been grooming herself and doing workshops to pursue her career as an actress. Now that she has the chance, Saswata and I are excited. Even my father-in-law predicted that she would do something great. Let’s hope for the best,” said Hiya’s mother, Mohua Chatterjee.

Soumya Mukherjee did not want to reveal his character. He had earlier worked with the director. The actor was very emotional because they were starting a new project.

The actor was full of praise for Hiya. “I have done workshops with her. She is ready to face the camera. She has a great lineage, and she will be a great star in the future,” said Soumya.

Nilayan Chatterjee, who is composing the music for the film, said that the music will have the freshness, upbeat, and contemporary vibe required for a love story.
