“Cheeni 2” the much anticipated new movie from Mainak Bhaumik, was the centerpiece of a special celebration at Canteen Pub & Grub, one of Kolkata’s well-liked hangouts. As guests celebrated the recent release of the movie’s trailer and songs, which had already sparked a frenzy among interested consumers following its digital debut a few days earlier, the event radiated a dynamic environment that was filled with excitement. With an official release date of August 11th, 2023, “Cheeni 2” is prepared to provide viewers with a touching and life-changing experience.

“Cheeni 2” is a sequel to the wildly popular “Cheeni,” and it goes even further into the lives of four extraordinary ladies from various backgrounds. The decision to avoid any ties to a predecessor or sequel in Cheeni 2 was made on purpose in order to draw viewers in with its own story. This outstanding movie beautifully depicts the different paths of four great women from various origins, highlighting the strength and depth of each of their distinctive experiences.

The film’s cast consists of Madhumita Sarcar, Aparajita Adhya, Lily Chakraborty, Anirban Chakrabarti, Soumya Mukherjee, and Pinky Banerjee, in pivotal roles.

Director Mainak Bhaumik said that the film was a celebration of the lives of women from diverse backgrounds. It also saluted their indomitable spirit. he hoped that the audience would be entertained and inspired by the journey of the four women in the film.

“Working with the director is always a pleasure as he gives enough freedom to me. I can create music independently and that helps in bringing out the best in me. The songs have been well received by the audience and I am so grateful to them. Emon Ekta Bondhu has been sung by Somlata Acharyya Chowdhury while Mahtim Shakib’s soulful voice in the song Tumi Jantei Paro Na is also appreciated by the audience” said music director Mainak Mazoomdar.

“This is my first film with Mainak. The most important thing that I liked about his directing style was his treatment of wit. Now most films do not have wit. He is aware of editing. So he knows what he wants in the scenes. that helps a lot during acting. I had a great time” said Debdut Ghosh.

Soumya Mukherjee’s dream of working with the director came true with this film. So he said asking him about how he felt working in the film was irrelevant. “I am glad to be a part of the second part of such a popular film. It was great working with Madhumita” said the actor.

Madhumita said “When Mainak da asked me that he wanted to cast me in a film, I did not ask him whether it was Cheeni 2 or some other film. Working with him is a delight. He just makes you understand the essence and then leaves you to enact that scene. That is the beauty of working with him. I look forward to working with him again and again. I hope that he casts me again in his next project too”.
