Malabar Group’s Micro Learning Centres Now Expand To More Regions

As part of its continuous efforts to rehabilitate street children and facilitate their return to formal education, Malabar Group is extending its Micro Learning Centres (MLCs) to more states and areas. The initiative’s goal is to reintegrate children who are absent from school due to social and economic difficulties into mainstream education by offering them structured care and basic learning support.
A week-long training program for State and Zonal Coordinators and volunteers in charge of the MLCs is presently in progress at the Malabar Group Headquarters in Kuttikkattur, Kozhikode, as part of this expansion. In order to create a disciplined roadmap for expanding the MLC model to new sites and enhancing operational performance across current centers, the initiative brings together field teams and domain specialists.
The Micro Learning Centres are part of Hunger Free World, the primary social initiative of Malabar Group, which attempts to alleviate hunger and educational deprivation in communities that are at risk. Through this program, children who are homeless, involved in forced labor, or have dropped out of school receive wholesome meals, basic education, and support to return to formal education, as well as help with rehabilitation and social integration.
Over 64,000 children are being supported by 1,534 Micro Learning Centres operating in 18 states, mostly in urban slum regions. Over 80% of India’s approximately 20 million homeless children live in urban areas, according to UNICEF estimates, underscoring the necessity of ongoing intervention in highly populated areas.
Malabar Group has dedicated five percent of its earnings to social responsibility projects since its founding. Over 115,000 recipients in Ethiopia, Zambia, and India currently get daily meals from the Group as part of the Hunger Free World program. Additionally, the Grandma Home project provides impoverished and destitute women with care and refuge, guaranteeing secure housing and necessary amenities.
Women’s empowerment, health, education, and environmental sustainability are among Malabar Group’s CSR priorities. Over 1.8 million people have benefited from the Group’s over Rs. 376 crore in social development initiatives to date.
