Aakash Aath’s new offering for the audience will be a new mega serial titled Meyeder Bratakotha.

This is a series that will show devotional fasting lores that are immensely popular in different parts of Bengal. At specific festivals, women conduct fast devoted to various gods and goddesses. The women also read the Brata Katha or spiritual tales of gods and goddesses on such occasions. It is believed that by doing these activities, one can lead a peaceful and prosperous life.

This is the first time that such a series will be aired on television for the audience.

Dolon Roy, Pinky Banerjee, Goutam Mukherjee, Souptik Chakraborty, and Titli Aich will be seen in pivotal roles in Meyeder Bratakotha.

Speaking in between shots, Pinky Banerjee said “I have grown up watching my mother do different Bratakotha on different occasions. I have helped her with the rituals. The things like fasting, intermittent fasting that we do in modern times for health reasons were also there in the old times. Then it had a religious angle. But apart from that, the process one follows to break a fast for puja is similar to the one that one follows for their health”.

The different stories that will be shown as part of this series will be directed by different directors.

The creative director is Soumik Chatterjee.

The mega serial will begin from 16^th August at 6.30 pm Monday to Saturday on Aakash Aath.
