Mimi Chakraborty’s Makes Her Debut In OTT Domain

Mimi Chakraborty finally debuts in the digital domain with Jaha Bolibo Shotto Bolibo. The actress will be seen in the role of a lawyer Pritha Roy.

The trailer of the series was unveiled in the presence of Mimi Chakraborty, Tota Roy Chowdhury, and many others.

The National award-winning director Chandrasish Ray has directed the series. It is based on real-life incidents.

The trailer opens with an event that happened in Kolkata in the mid-2000s on New Year’s Eve. Off-duty officer IC Tapas Saha and other police officers—all dressed in civil attire—got into a fight. When Tapas Saha tries to dissuade the police from harassing a couple on a bike, he is attacked by them and left severely injured.

Reluctantly accepting the case, the youthful and vivacious Pritha Roy learns it’s a police matter. Personal and professional challenges converge as she negotiates legal intricacies.

Pritha finds herself in greater danger when the case develops into a murder trial, which is defended by strong attorney Joyraj Singha (Tota). As the story changes, questions are raised, and under pressure from the police, a startling arrest takes place. Concurrently, Pritha’s personal life unravels as connections go in unforeseen directions.

Mimi Chakraborty said, “The project is special because of the gripping storyline and the amazing cast. Also with this project, I start my journey in the OTT world. I have always believed that when the time is right, things happen. t do not happen before that. The same is the case with this project. The time was right, the script, cast, everything was correct and hence it happened”.

She praised her co-actor Tota for his fitness and amazing acting prowess. “I have been watching Tota da’s fitness videos during the pandemic on social media platforms. It was such an inspiration for me. He used to work out on the roof and that highly motivated me. To work opposite him was a great pleasure” said the actress.

Tota Roy Chowdhury said “Hoichoi is like my second home. Working with Chandrashish was amazing. Despite being a young man, he was passionate and confident and was clear about his vision. He is a director worth looking forward to in the coming times”.

The actor also added that Mimi and Tota were products of late director Rituparno Ghosh’s acting school. “It was during the shooting that I found that the way we both approached a scene was similar. This was bound to happen as we both had the same teacher” said Tota.
