‘Small Taalk Ideas’ helmed by actor Sampurna Lahiri and producer Rahul Bhanja announced their first Bengali feature film titled Mini. Mini is the first film where Mimi Chakraborty will be working with director Mainak Bhaumik.

This is the first time Mimi will be seen experimenting with a new avatar, new style, and genre of cinema. The audience will surely be surprised by her new character.

Mimi said that she was excited to work with Mainak. Their first interaction was when she was doing Crisscross and Mainak had written the script of the film. Later he called her up during lockdown and gave her a brief on this story. She really liked how the character belongs to today’s generation and yet has a lot of inclination towards family. She’s independent but at the same time, her family is a big part of her life.  Relationships are a big part of her life. A few twists and turns change her life. Working with Mainak should be fun as she has heard that he is very cool and easygoing.

A woman-centric film helmed by a woman producer is a rare feat and even rarer when the producer is another female actor of the Bengali film industry. Actor turned producer Sampurna Lahiri, said that she is more interested in making good cinema through her production company and collaborate with great artists.

Co-producer Rahul Bhanja who has been part of the production team of several acclaimed films like Byomkesh Gowtro, Shantilal O Projapoti Rahasya, Ahare Mon, Asche Abar Shabor, Durga Sahay among others revealed that in 2021, they are going to produce 6 feature films and all the films will focus primarily on stories of different relationships.

Mini is scheduled to go on floors in 2021.
