Mon Jaane Na Trailer Released; Film Focuses on Women Trafficking, Prostitution
SVF’s upcoming film, Mon Jaane Na deals with women trafficking, forceful drug abuse along with prostitution which drives a simple family apart. To highlight the consequences of such predominant issues in our society, the lead cast of the film – Mimi Chakraborty and Yash came together to speak about this issue . The rest of the cast and crew members namely, Rajdeep Gupta, Raj Barman, Dabbu, Lincon and more were present to showcase the trailer and also spoke about women power.
To describe the real-life tragedy of those who had to overcome similar obstacles, SVF invited and felicitated 5 such brave-heart women who are survivors of trafficking, exploitation, abuse and violence.
The cast of Hoichoi’s Original web series’ “Astey Ladies!” consisting of Sandipta Sen, Saayoni Ghosh, Madhurima Ghosh launched the official trailer at the event. Astey Ladies began streaming from 14th March.
Shagufta Rafique, the director of Mon Jaane Na, is a renowned Bollywood screenplay and script writer, who has been associated with acclaimed films like Aashiqui 2, Awarapan, Who Lamhe, Raaz 2 and more. This film marks her debut as a director. The story of the film is synonymous to her life.
Amir (Yash) is a young, lonely guy who earns his living by driving a taxi. Seeing him companionless, his friend advises him to get married in order to have a life partner. Hence, Amir seeks help from the local maulvi who introduces him to a shy, orphan girl Pari (Mimi). He falls in love with her at first sight and they get married. Soon after marriage, Pari comes across certain secrets of Amir and she goes missing. For 2 years, Amir frantically searches her throughout the city bring a taxi driver. One day he discovers her outside a hotel in an unconscious state. However, Pari is no longer her demure self but has transformed into a reckless drug addict and gone into prostitution. Who is responsible for this crisis?
Mon Jaane Na is scheduled to release on 21st March, 2019.
