Mrityupothojatri is an experimental fiction directed by Saumya Sengupta.

The film shows the last twelve hours of a convict sentenced to death. On the specific day, the convict is put into the condemned cell. And the next day he is taken out of the cell to be hanged. In between these times, the convict’s psychological distress, loneliness, guilt, and fear of death are shown in detail. Finally, the time to end arrives. The convict begs for his life but nobody listens.

The film has been written by the director.

The cast of the film consists of Rahul Arunoday Banerjee, Dipak Deb as Jail Super, Anik Mitra as Deputy Super, Subodh Chakrabarty as jail doctor, and Jayanta Roy as a magistrate.

The jail song lyrics and composition are by Somnath Kar.

Kan Singh Sodha has produced this film.

The film will release on 10th June.
