Muhurto Shows How Dementia Affects The Patients And Also The Caregivers
Director Somnath Gupta’s short film Muhurto was screened at 28th KIFF under the Short and Documentary Panorama.
A press meet was organized in the presence of the director, Senjuti Mukherjee, editor Arghyakamal Mitra, and others.
The story of Muhurto is about a housewife who struggles but accepts living with a husband diagnosed with Dementia.
Speaking at the press conference, the director said “We all know about Dementia more or less. But we do not know the effects that it has on the family members or the caregivers of the person suffering from Dementia. Dementia is the symptoms of some grave disease that might have affected the body of an individual”.
The producer of the film is Ardsi.
The cinematographer of the film is Supriyo Dutta.
The music has been composed by Baijayanta Roy.
The cast consists of Senjuti Mukherjee and Koustuv Sen.
Senjuti Mukherjee who had been acting for many years said “I am a teacher and I knew about the theoretical aspects of Dementia. But I had no idea about the effects that it had on the family members or caregivers. It was an eye-opening experience for me”.
The duration of Muhurto is 24 minutes.
