The music launch of the upcoming Bengali film Bidrohini took place in the presence of the director Sandip Chowdhury, Anweshaa Dutta Gupta, Jeetu, Haranath Chakraborty and others.

The story of the film is about Kiran who is still haunted by the memories of fifteen years ago. Fifteen years ago, Kiran’s sister Arunima was kidnapped by goons. After seven days, Arunima was found wounded and she became mute after the tragedy that happened to her. Their parents die on their quest to find the culprits. Kiran and Arunima then begin to stay at their maternal uncle’s home. Kiran starts to study law and also prepares herself for IPS examination. She decides to become a police. Will she be successful?

Rituparna Sengupta, Jeetu, Falguni Chatterjee, Soma Chakraborty, Santana Basu, Anindo Sarkar and others will be seen in pivotal roles in this upcoming Bengali film.

The story, script and direction are by Sandip Chowdhury. “I wanted a strong actress to play the role of the police officer. Hence Rituparna was in my mind from the first instance. She had never done a film with my father. When she heard the story, she liked it immediately and it was a win-win situation” added the director.

The music director is Anwesha Dutta Gupta and there are three songs in the film. This is her second film as a music director after Limelight. “My name was suggested by Ritu di (Rituparna). I am grateful that I was considered for the film. I wanted to collaborate with many artists. But since there are only three songs, I and Rupankar da sang the songs. I enjoyed composing music for the film. I am looking forward to the reaction from the audiences” said the singer.

Jeetu plays an honest lawyer named Rahul in the film. “With the help of this character, the director wants to showcase that honest lawyers are needed in the society. We need more lawyers who will stand up for the truth and not only run after money” said the actor.

The actor praised Rituparna Sengupta and said “She is an institution in herself. Despite being so popular and famous, she does not have an iota of ego. That is a huge thing to learn from her”.

The film is produced by Mirage Movies.

The film is eyeing for release on 14^th February.
